At its heart our 11am service follows the pattern and principles of Anglican worship but the way we express that at 11am is more relaxed and varied in style. We still read the Bible together, pray together and sing together. We try to do as much of this together as possible each week, so it’s not unusual to see the kids up the front or the adults joining in actions for songs. Though you’re always welcome to come and just be part of it without joining in.
Most weeks we do send the kids out for a time of learning about the Bible that involves different activities, craft and drama. This allows the adults to have a time of hearing the Bible explained in more depth.
We normally celebrate Communion, or the Lord’s Supper, every second week at 11am, though different events and special services sometimes disrupt this schedule.
And once a term or so we often have a special service where everyone is in together and the whole service looks a bit different. We call this Messy Church and it’s an opportunity for 4 year olds to learn next to 104 year olds, for grown-ups to get their hands dirty and for all of us to explore God’s word and world in creative ways!
